My cartoony style rears it's head again:

Still posting pictures I've made of other Artists. I love spending my free time with other artists.

Today I spent time with Artist Elgin Bolling. But I didn't draw him today.
Instead, he taught me about teeth - drawing them individually.
And he got me thinking 3-dimensionally about face-play. And we started a new drawing game.

The game was that we took out an old speed scribble, meaning quick notes of a person done in less than a minute. Then, without looking at each other's paper, we each drew up the face that we thought was described with that scribble. It was fun to see that it usually looked like we were drawing the same person as each other - but at different moments in that person's existence. Like taking photos every second - flashflashflash.

Still, I do have plenty of pictures here of other artists that I previously drew.
I don't get time to post everything I draw, but I have piles of pictures here that I'd like to show.

Here's the artist Steve Hartley. I drew this one in 4 minutes:

And here's artist Caroline Holroyd:

And one more that I'll post today. Mike Hasson:

I think my hobby must be
calling places to fix my technology.
Because I've been spending a lot of time doing that.
Today it was the cellphone.
Taking to people all over the country. Maybe even all over the world.

I own an LG400 phone from AT&T. That's the thing I've been taking those crummy pictures with. Well, I currently have 149 pictures on it - but I have been totally unable to send them to my computer to see if any of them are useable. (Really hoping - I photographed some good pictures that I made.)

Anyway, can't email them to myself. Can't use a wire and software to put it directly onto my computer. The best 'help' I could find would involve deleting all 149 pictures. Oh Woe.

Anyway, while I was on the phone (you know how long that could be), I drew the following pictures from photos.
At least I'm happy with that! Been working on the 3/4-view, and I think I'm getting better at the 3/4-view noses.

  • Note: There is still hope of seeing those cell-phone pictures.
They said that a Supervisor will call me tomorrow.
We never know what the future might bring. Let's hope it will be real good.

I recently had a good experience in which a stranger contacted me about a picture that he found on my blog.
Just a very simple picture - I don't remember any reason for drawing it.

He wanted to use it on his newsletter - to represent a girl who has an advice column there.

I told him how much to send me - just a few dollars. He sent me the money, and he took it from my blog.

I wanted to write about him because I hear so often that people will rip you off,
that you gotta be careful, that you gotta protect yourself.
True, you gotta protect yourself - but that's from the FEW bad people.
    Most people are upright.
And most of the people that I know want to be upright.
And I like to think that I'm a good one too.
It's important to point out that most people choose to be good.

Chalk it up to another experience of dealing with an honest person.

    Check out this guy's newsletter.
I don't know how to put links onto this blog,
but you can cut and paste it into your address bar:

Some upright people - I think you have a chance
of getting advice on how to be upright in Rachael's column.

I'm apparently in a good mood right now.
It's easy to be pleasant when you're treated well.
Treating each other right - that could be the way to surround yourself with pleasant people.

    Artists.
I recently saw Al Lopez, a California Caricaturist who specializes in Pin-Ups.
Finally got him to draw this picture of me. So Cute!

It's unusual for me to be wearing a big t-shirt,
but I'm glad I did this time.
I was wearing a souvenier that I had bought on the street in NYC.
Now that Al included that in this picture,
I guess I can dub myself Ms New York? Smile.

One of these days I'm going to draw a picture that shows how charming he is.
Meanwhile, all I did was to focus on expanding 3-D forms with just line
    when I was drawing him.
It's just what I was into that day:

I went to a 6-year old's party in NJ today.
I was having an upright time with a helpful 6-year-old who seemed so mature.
Surprised me when she reminded me that she couldn't read yet - She's working on it, and can spell her big name already: Stephanie.

Here's the picture that Stephanie drew of me.
So you're probably wondering - who am I really?
I am too. Is Stephanie right? Is Al right? Some other Artist perhaps? All I know is that I'm having fun and meeting wonderful people.
