Funny how
when you get too busy,
so much to do,
sometimes one thing that you have to do
ends up making it possible for you do do one other thing that you have to do.That's what happened to me just now. I was preparing for an upcoming event,
but the samples that I would have wanted to bring
were all allocated to other jobs just now.
Make new samples? But I have so much to do! So I glanced over at some of those pictures that I just mentioned to you
this morning
that I wanted to scan in for this blog.
Eureka - there are the pictures that I can use for these samples. I figure I'll just bring them in to be laminated when I go to the Office Supply Store for printing up contact information for a new Agent. That means that I'd want to scan them in to the blog before going to the Office Supply store. Because the pictures don't always scan as well after being laminated. See? I had left the pictures out
that I had made in my 'off' time
because I wanted to post them on this blog.
So when I needed new samples, I didn't have to draw them up. I just had them.
And I needed new Samples,
but it was not a special trip to the store to get them laminated because I was already going to the store for the agent.
And because I'd be taking them in for lamination,
I was 'pushed' to get this blog-thing done.
See? Doing one thing make it more likely that you'll do more things. So here are some of the things I've been doing.
The first three show a new idea I was so happy with.
It looks so good to draw dark-skinned people on
bright neon paper. Problem scanning them in, though.
Because the Computer really washed out the bright colors. So I had to doctor them up a big in PhotoShop. But you get the idea:

Then, the following threee pictures were done in my off time - when I was just drinking water in a coffee shop. (This first one won't be laminated as a Sample, though. Because the face is smaller than the other Samples that it would be displayed with:
This 2nd one with be used as a Sample.
It's actually quite daring of me.
Because it's a good Caricature
of a funny-looking person.
And people are usually attracted to Samples of beautiful people, not funny-looking ones.
I figure that I'll take a chance - I hope that I'll be with a group of people who let themselves have Fun. (A picture doesn't change the way we actually look. It's good to be able to laugh at Exaggerations of yourself. Reminder: Caricature is supposed to be Exaggeration, not straight portrait!
And here's just another nice sample.
Mild exaggeration of a Corporate-type person.
(I am currently making these samples in preparation of a Corporate Event. They will be hosting a Hospitality Suite at their Convention where people will be dressed up as comic book characters. Now, I figure a group like this would Want me to take liberties like this:
And one more picture I have sitting here - Not colored in, but maybe I'll use that as a Sample too. I like the Caricature.
