Some Came Out Fuzzy 11:07 am 06/08/2008
Well, it looks like there isn't going to be any problem
about choosing which photos to post here
out of the 491 that I took with my phone.
Most of them came out too fuzzy to see anything.
But there are still plenty to show.
Here's some more:

Start 12:44 am 06/08/2008
491 pictures on my phone! From several gigs. Let's start tonight with just these:

Here are some from an Office Party in NYC:

Eureka ! 12:30 am 05/28/2008
You're probably not going to think much
of these 3 pictures that I want to post
today - so I can remember them. But they
are pivotal.

I had grabbed some scrap paper
and quickly drew against some bumpy
furniture (hence the horrible line-quality)
just so I could remember what I had
just thought of. It's The Answer to
quicksketch 3/4-view Caricatures.
It just bcame So Clear to me for that
moment:

Mark Simon - Expressions Book 12:09 am 05/24/2008
Beautiful weather today. Nice easy day for me - Face Painting in Central Park. Then I came home to this!
I knew I gave Mark Simon permission to use the Artwork that I sent to him OVER A YEAR AGO, but I didn't know that I was going to see his fabulous book TODAY.

I found 3 of my pictures in it - between the pages of 114 and 117.
It's so funny - He so protected MY copyright that even I couldn't lift the
pictures from his book to put them here on my blog. And I'm too busy
to start looking through a year's worth of pictures to find the originals
here.

Here's some quotes telling about his book.

Quote: Facial Expressions - E-Book

I have been asked by artists around the world to sell a digital version of Facial Expressions that they can load onto their computers. Now it's here.

Facial Expressions Companion E-Book Volume 3 contains over 1,000 all new images, including over 60 works of art.

The first Facial Expressions book has been a best-seller since it came out two years ago. There is no better photo reference book on the market.

This edition also features a great new gallery, Age Progression. Now you can see how a face ages from being a baby and growing into an adult.

Low Battery 11:46 pm 05/22/2008
Low Battery.
So Disappointing.

I did Fashion Sketches at Bloomingdales today. I don't do Fashion Sketches often -
Never used to advertise it. It was just something that Some people knew I did, and, well.....

But now I want to do more Fashion Sketch Events.
In addition to regular Caricature Events and Face-Painting Events.
I'm really enjoying it.

3 Fashion-Sketch gigs ago, I developed a style that's really good.
Today I decided to take photos - so I could start collecting lots of Samples.
I drew my first customer, took out my phone, tried to snap a photo,
But
Nothing. The screen said "Low Battery".
The pictures were great. The people were great. I had The Perfect Event for this. But no photos.
Low Battery.

Here are 3 practice pieces that I drew in a dark bar last night while I was waiting for the Arkhams to come on.
There's such a Style there. Some people really do it up.
Limited supplies. In the dark. And I still enjoyed drawing. I guess I'm real excited with it - something new:

And here are some Samples that I drew a while back - when I designed this style:

And here are the original sketches from a long time ago when I was feeling my way for what would I draw for Fashion Sketches at an Event:

Too Heavy 11:54 pm 05/13/2008
I booked a last-minute gig for tomorrow.
In the city.

So here I am, midl of the night, and doing prepwork.
I use a different backpack when I travel by train
than when I travel by car. So much to bring - it can
get soooo heavy.

I just went through the time-off folder that I keep in
the NYC gig-backpack. Taking out some pictures to
make the backpack lighter for tomorrow. So many
people I see. So many ideas I draw. But what to
do with them all?

I love the web. I just picked a few - I can display
them here:
