New Fashion Sketch Samples

Running around. But I felt like making new Fashion Sketch Samples.
This is what I came up with - using the limited supplies that I always
have with me.

It’s a good idea to keep paper and markers with you.
I keep the ones that aren’t ‘juicy’ enough for my gigs anymore.
They’re in my pocketbook, in my car, in every room of my house,
at my friend’s house….. Everywhere.

Hair

What’s an Artist to do ~
Drawing for hours, surrounded by people, and this guy sits down and
says “Draw me with lots of hair.”
What’s an Artist to do ~ ~

Like it isn’t hard enough to get a good likeness, one after another after another, person after person after person, without them telling you not to draw whatever it is that you see.

So I just draw My Response to his request
instead of ‘following orders’. A Caricature Artist
has to see and interpret more than just shapes.

I used to quietly take things like this, and just appreciate, just feel oh good ~

along with a niiiice tip

The Children had Fun

Sometimes I really feel like I Work. Like ArtWork is Work. But it’s all for good.

The Children at this Party had so much Fun. Some of them
the pleasant easy-to-relate-to children that adults enjoy. But some of them, well, Not model-perfect sitters for the Artist. Makes it harder for me to draw, but I enjoy it all. Both the people I relate with And the people that I just watch.

Gathering of Family and Friends

Some people’s lives are so interesting. This group of people included adults who’d known my hosts since Grade-School - some even since Kindergarten! They’d kept in touch with one another. Followed their whole lives together. Everybody knowing ‘who they were back then’…. I wonder how that affects a person’s growth

Butticatures

I had to renew my Driver’s License. Sitting. Waiting in the DMV Office. Waiting.

I brought my ‘Coloring Books’ along to keep me occupied.
But what to draw? Butt what to draw?
I wanted to practice Caricatures, but that usually means faces. And the way they had us seated, sort of audience-style, I only saw the backs of people’s heads in the seats in front of me. And all the way up front, where people were handling DMV business, I saw….

the Backs of them. Standing there. Oh the humanity.

We might not realize how often people see us from behind.

NOW I’M REAL INTERESTED TO DRAW BUTTICATURES AT PARTIES.
No cameras permitted at the DMV office, so I wasn’t allowed to photograph what I was looking at:

Now I’m real interested in looking at butts. Derrierres is more the way I like to describe it. Also might be called Tushies, Rear Ends, Bottoms, Asses, Buttocks…… Call it what you will, it’s real interesting to see. To imagine. To shape.

I’m hoping that people would hire me to draw Butticatures at their Parties.
Same price as Caricatures.
But we would have to have people who are game to turning around while knowing that they are being viewed. That way.
